All conference registration fees must be pre-paid on or before May 1st, 2012 in order to participate in the conference. All guests must also be pre-registered for all social events. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get Wi-Fi at the hotel?
Yes, the hotel offers Premium Wi-Fi in your room which is included in the room rate. Also, you may use the computers in the Lab to check your email and check-in for flights.
Is there Parking at the Hotel?
Yes, the hotel offers On-Site Valet Parking only.
Is there an additional charge for more than 2 persons sharing one hotel room?
Yes, the hotel will charge an additional fee of $25 per person, per night.
Does the hotel offer smoking rooms?
All rooms at the Westin are designated as non-smoking rooms including those with balconies. However, the hotel does have designated areas for smoking if you so wish.
Does the hotel offer shuttle service to Fort Lauderdale Airport?
Unfortunately, they do not. However, the airport is only 8 miles from the hotel. A taxi is expected to cost around $25.
I heard there's a Water Taxi to take you to various shopping areas. Where can I find information on that?
The water taxi is a public taxi service that is directly located one block behind the hotel. More information can be found at www.watertaxi.com
How else can I get around?
There are cabs aplenty in the area as it is a major tourist thoroughfare. Also, the hotel offers bicycle rentals, if you wish.
What is the weather like this time of year?
Fort Lauderdale weather in May is warm and comfortable. The average high is 85.9 and the average low is 70.2. Perfect beach weather!

I need my coffee early in the morning! Where's the nearest coffee shop?
You're in luck! The hotel is host to a full-service "real" Starbucks on the ground floor!
Can I bring a guest to the social events?
Yes, guests are invited to attend the social events, but in order to do so, they must be pre-registered. Social event guest passes are $50 per person for the Welcome Reception and $75 per person for the Tuesday Night event which includes one drink ticket.
What is the drink policy at the social events?
The Welcome Reception consists of open bar for 1 hour and then cash bar thereafter. You will receive 1 drink ticket for the Tuesday Night event. We request that all attendees and guests are mindful of their alcohol consumption for their own and others' safety.
